Lattice Fold Card

I wanted to share a challenge card I created using the Lattice Fold technique. Super fun!!! Go to YouTube and search for lattice fold, you'll find lots of videos. I'm not always a fan of fancy folds...remember, I'm quite the lazy stamper, but this one was so easy! I even cut out by hand the flower from the Bloom by Bloom stamp set!!! Crazy, I know!! Haha!!

Night of Navy - 8 1/2 x 5 1/2
Happiness Blooms Memories & More Card Pack - 5 1/2 x 3 1/4

Happy Birthday and a Sketch

It's time to share this week's sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog. I love these sketches!! Join us, and you'll be hooked too!!!

Here's my card, using the SU stamp set First Frost and Frosted Bouquet framelits. Both of these items were in the holiday catalog and good news, they are part of the Carryover List. That means you can still purchase these Holiday Favorites!!

For my card, I started out by sponging some Petal Pink in the center then built my arrangement from there. Love these soft colors together! Now share your creation with us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Measurements:
Petal Pink card base - 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4
Calypso Coral - 5 1/8 x 3 7/8
Whisper White - 5 x 3 3/4

Keeping it Simple

I've been playing with the Sale-a-bration Botanical Butterfly designer series paper a lot recently...and lovin' every minute of it!!! It is just so beautiful!!!!! For this card, I had die cut several of the rectangles using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits, and because the paper is double sided, I have lots of options. Kept this one simple, using the Butterfly Gala Bundle (sorry to say this bundle is currently unavailable, but sign up for email notification when it returns HERE) to punch out the butterfly from the DSP and to stamp the sentiment. The Gingham Gala adhesive backed sequins were also use to add that little something. Quick and easy, that's what I call it!!

Measurements:
Whisper White card base - 11 x 4 1/4, scored and folded at 5 1/2
Gorgeous Grape - 4 1/8 x 2 3/4
DSP - Rectangle Stitched Framelit

Creating My Own Background

I have a confession to make...even though creating this background was fun, it's not my most favorite thing to do!! I have issues with lack of control, and believe me, you have very little when creating a background this way!!! I smooshed an ink pad onto a sheet of acetate, spritz it with water, then smeared it onto a piece of watercolor paper that was also wet. The color will go the way it wants to, hence my displeasure!!! Hahaha! I ended up using 3 shades of the blue/green ink because I knew I wanted to create a baby card. I even flicked on some gold shimmer paint that Stampin' Up sold in their holiday catalog. The heat gun even got a workout drying the watercolor paper in between color applications. My I say, I like the final project, the process just gave me cause for concern.

Measurements:
Bermuda Bay card base - 11 x 4 1/4, scored and folded at 5 1/2
Coastal Cabana - 5 1/4 x 4
Watercolor Paper - Approximately 5 1/8 x 3 7/8 (cut out with largest rectangle stitched framelit)
