Rainbow Background Cards

We've been having lots of rain the past few days. I decided to brighten my day by creating some rainbow background cards! I have two techniques to share PLUS a video of how I made these cards. First up is the ink blending technique. With 5 colors of ink, a stencil, and some sponge daubers, ink was applies to my white background piece. I then kept with those same bright colors to create my cactus scene. Bright, happy and for sure will put a smile on anyone's face.

Measurements:
Thick Whisper White card base - 11 x 4 1/4, scored and folded at 5 1/2
Basic Black layers - 5 1/8 x 3 7/8,  2 3/4 x 4 1/8,  and 2 3/4 x 5/8
Whisper White - 5 x 3 3/4,  2 5/8 x 4,  and 2 3/4 x 1/2

And here is my second rainbow card, this time using a stamp to create the colorful background. With Stampin' Up's! retirement list out, I wanted to highlight some of the must have stamp sets on that list. Here I used Touches of Texture stamp set to create the background, stamping both horizontal and diagonal. The second card hiding in the back has 6 diagonal stripes because I stamped the stripes much closer together while the card in front only has 5 stripes. Either way, the background is still fabulous!!!

I created a video sharing how I made these backgrounds and cards so be sure and watch it HERE. Feel free to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you're aware when I post a new video.
